Nick graduated with a first-class honour’s degree from Buckingham Chilterns University in 2007. He was also awarded a 'Certificate of Merit' by The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.
After honing his skills in the employ of two well established makers, he opened the doors to Nick Geard Furniture in November 2009. We became incorporated in 2013, taking on our first member of staff who continues to assist in making of the various commissions. Still based in Charlwood, Surrey, we have since expanded its workshops and increased staff, and continue to make all sorts of furniture, free standing and fitted, in any style.
Commissions of all sizes are accepted – from a jewellery box to a custom fitted kitchen and bespoke joinery. Every project is made with precision, whether it be via a wide range of machinery, or crafted from traditional hand tools.
Today, we design and manufacture all manner of furniture for the domestic and commercial markets, using traditional cabinet making skills to create fine pieces from beautiful timbers. Equal attention is given to whole room in the most modern styles, employing contemporary materials and processes.
Large commissions often require project management, which we are happy to do, bringing together the various other trade aspects, such as stone for worktops, plumbing & electrical works, and tiling – all these are carefully selected to work to our exacting standards. Any appliances required can also be ordered to provide a complete turnkey solution. Such major projects have been successfully undertaken in Wimbledon, Westminster in central London, and more locally, as we accept inquiries from the home counties, London and throughout the Southeast of England.
We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses.
