Commissioning
Commissioning a designer maker means your ideas for an individual piece of furniture can become a reality. It could be an item of furniture for your own home, a piece to be placed in a commercial setting, or collaboration with an interior designer, but the principle remains the same, it is the quality of making, the attention to design and detail, and the use of beautiful materials which enables the craftsman to achieve the desired result.
At the beginning of the commissioning process a one to one consultation is arranged to fully discuss your ideas. It is also the first opportunity for me to see the environment in which the piece will be placed, and to gain inspiration for the design from the surroundings and you, the client. A design is then developed, in accordance with your budget, and a further meeting will be arranged when I present my design. Once confirmation of acceptance of the design is received, I begin to plan your project and work can commence.
The design will be crafted in my workshop in Surrey, and clients are always welcome to visit during the making process. Upon completion, the finished piece will be delivered and installed into your home.
